Pious man and the God

God helps those who help themselves. Here is a story of a pious man who had immense faith in God but did not help  him self.

There lived a very pious man in a village who was respected by one and all. One day, the village was flooded due to heavy rain. People started running for safety. But then the old and pious man refused to leave and thinking that God will help him. Villagers called him join them to safety but this old man refused and saying he had immense faith in God and he will surely help me. The water level started raising, then came a jeep calling him to board for safety. He refused and saying he had faith in God and he will help me. As the water level increased to the first floor. Then came a boat calling him for board for safety. He refused. As the water level increased, the old and pious man climbed to top of the roof. A helicopter came and asking him to board for safety. The old man refused. Finally he was drowned and went to the final abode where he met God. He asked God why he had not helped him, since he was very faithful to him. God smiled and unformed him that it was he sent the jeep first time then boat and then helicopter. It was God who sent all those means to help him, but the old man refused the help and hence died.
